Watching some of her six grandkids in the swimming pool in their Chino Hills backyard, Jeanette Young has to laugh when one of them gives her a soggy embrace and announces, Grandma, this is the best day of my life. I have everything I need. I have my own pool in my own backyard. And thats just about all Jeanette herself needs for happinessnot the pool or the backyard, but this endearing moment and many others like it when alls right with her world because shes connected with family and friends and watching out for them.

Family and friends are priority number one for this longtime Inland Empire resident. As one of seven siblings, Jeanette learned early on to appreciate family connections. From girlhood, she understood the importance of being there for five sisters and a brother, and always bathed in the warm feeling of support that family always provided.
Extending Concern
Taking her concern for others to the next level, Jeanette has consistently reached out to those less fortunate in her community, especially children and the elderly. For over 15 years, she has helped organize a Thanksgiving food drive to collect groceries for families that might not otherwise be able to enjoy a fall feast. For dozens of year-end holidays, shes assisted with a grassroots toy drive so Santas bag is not empty when its time to provide holiday cheer for needy children in the area. Jeanettes association with the Chino Kiwanis Club is her way of giving back to thousands of children in the community. That community is an extension of family also is clear in this concerned citizens volunteer efforts for Concerts in the Park, sponsored by Chino Kiwanis Club. As a former board member for the Chino Youth Museum, she provides inspiration for the younger generation in the town shes always called home. Beyond family, Jeanette was involved as a founder of Chino Commercial Bank, a financial institution that serves the needs of local citizens.
